Sr Staff Enterprise Architect

**Role Summary:**

Works on multiple projects as a project leader or internal consultant. Works on highly complex projects that require in-depth domain knowledge or two or more specialized architecture areas. Works across multiple technical or functional domains. Responsible for the development, implementation of an Enterprise Architecture framework for GE Transportation.



**Essential Responsibilities:**



+ Contribute to the development of project and data delivery platforms that are service-oriented with reusable components across multiple teams that can be orchestrated together into different methods for different business functions

+ Lead and coordinate the domain technical and business discussions relative to future architecture direction across the product portfolio or product line.

+ Analyze, design and develop a roadmap and implementation plan based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint.

+ Review and/or analyze and develop architectural requirements at domain level within product portfolio or team.

+ Participate in the Enterprise Architecture domain governance model.

+ Ensure that cost governance and financial efficiency are at the core of architectural thinking.

+ Lead the research and evaluation of emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support actives.



**Qualifications/Requirements:**



+ Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science or in ?STEM? Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).

+ A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a technical area (Architecture, Software, or Information Technology) or (a high school diploma / GED with at least 8 years of experience in Information Technology or Software).

+ Must be willing to travel

+ Must be willing to work out of an office located in Chicago, Fort Worth, or Erie



**Desired Characteristics:**

The Enterprise Architect will have a deep working knowledge of Application and Infrastructure Architectures and how they interact with each other across Traditional and Cloud-based landscapes this will include:



+ AWS services & offerings ? The expectation being that they set the baseline to drive operational rigor, full-stack ownership, Automation and continuous deployment into our Internal and Commercial VPC?s

+ SDWan ? Drive the interaction between our Software defined networks and Application workloads to ensure most efficient, secure and cost-effective delivery to internal and external customers

+ Traditional IT offerings ? Including Engineering Tools, ERP, Database, Middleware, Web Services, Virtualization across Wintel/*Nix environments, Enterprise Storage and Protection

+ SDLC enhancement ? Provide the tools and processes to drive standards across our Software development teams and a framework for enhanced collaboration, re-use, automation and security



The Enterprise Architect will be skilled at bridging the gap between technical & business innovators by:



+ Working closely with the matrix of Infrastructure Leader, Functional IT Leaders, business CIO?s, Solutions Architects, Enterprise Operations leadership team, Cyber Security & Compliance to define the core building blocks for our traditional IT and Cloud based solutions

+ A demonstration of C-level communication / dialogue and a demonstrable track-record of delivering real change across Enterprise IT.

+ Leading the development of a framework that will pull together Business, Data, Infrastructure and IT Security into a core set of standards, processes and reference architecture that is understood across the enterprise

+ Being comfortable with rapid change, shifting priorities and competing demands in modern digital / Industrial company.
